Imogen is a choreographer, movement director and intimacy coordinator. 

Imogen works across multiple disciplines; theatre, film and tv, classical and electronic music, performance and visual art, photography, and opera.

Imogen was movement coach on Chernobyl for HBO and is currently movement and intimacy coach for the upcoming tv series The Power for Amazon. 

Imogen was awarded the Choreography for Children 2012 commission by Sadler’s Wells, Company of Angels and The Place. OMG! premiered at The Place and Sadler’s Wells in 2013.

In the past three years she has directed work with orchestras and musicians from the London Sinfonietta, Southbank Sinfonia and Royal College of Music and Royal Northern College of Music that explores alternative and heightened ways of experiencing classical and electronic music. Imogen is the movement director for NYX – female trans non binary electronic drone choir. NYX looks to reshape the role of the traditional female choir, testing the limits of organic and synthetic modulation to explore the entire spectrum of collective female voice as an instrument. 

Imogen works closely with the innovative charity BODY & SOUL , a charity that uses a comprehensive, community-based and trauma informed approach to address the life-threatening effects of childhood adversity in people of all ages. 

Over the Summer of 2020, Imogen, NYX and sixteen women and non-binary members of BODY & SOUL came together virtually to share, move and use our voices to explore the power of vulnerability, imagination and togetherness..⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ This was a mix of singers and non-singers. We used our own experiences, field recordings, poetry by Rupi Kaur & Mary Oliver, electronic vocal manipulation, chakra mantras, our imaginations and singing together to stay connected and inspired. 

Imogen has strong ties with CLEAN BREAK Theatre Company. Through their unique work CLEAN BREAK raise difficult questions, inspire debate, and help to effect profound and positive change in the lives of women with experience of the criminal justice system. In early Spring 2021, Imogen ran a series of masterclasses with members focusing on embodiment and creative expression. 

Imogen offers intimacy direction and co-ordination for television & film, a practice adopted by many leading production houses including Netflix, Warner Bros, HBO and the BBC.

Imogen is skilled at holding a safe, respectful and collaborative space to facilitate the process of shooting intimate scenes. 

Her extensive background in movement choreography, combined with a knowledge and experience of somatic work and psychotherapy mean she’s skilled in navigating the emotional and physical demands of intimate scenes. Imogen works both creatively and practically offering: 

Consultancy on best practice for intimate / scenes with sexual content for directors, first ADs, producers and crew at any stage of pre-production.

Co-ordination of intimate / sex scenes in rehearsal – collaborating with the director and/or if required working solely with the actors before shooting.

On set, on the day choreography or direction of intimate scenes.
